We celebrated meaningful milestones, including Tami Regan’s 20 years of service to the University of Missouri. Additional milestone work anniversaries in 2025 include:
- Shelly Billman (Instructional Specialist) – 5 years with Mizzou Academy
- Christyn Edwards (Assistant Lead Teacher) – 5 years with Mizzou Academy
- Sarah Williams (Executive Assistant) – 5 years with Mizzou Academy
- Kathryn Fishman-Weaver (Executive Director) – 10 years with Mizzou Academy
- Dale Hargis (Instructional Designer) – 10 years with Mizzou Academy
Mizzou Academy Honor Award. Established in 2021, our Mizzou Academy Honor Award is a peer-nominated quarterly recognition to celebrate, appreciate, and honor the contributions of our team. All Mizzou Academy employees are eligible to receive this award. In 2025, we were thrilled to celebrate the following Honor Award recipients:
- Karen Hirst, Instructional Specialist
- Jeff Healy, Assistant Professor of Professional Practice and Lead Speech and Debate Teacher
- Caitlin Maxwell, Student Support Specialist I
- Amelia Howser, Director of School Counseling

Professional Advancement. In 2025, several members of our faculty and staff took on increased leadership and responsibilities. We are thrilled to celebrate the following promotions:
- Chevi’ White: In January, Chevi’ was promoted to Business Manager.
- Greg Soden: Also in January, Greg was promoted to Instructional Specialist Coordinator and Supervisor.
- Lisa Boyer: In May, Lisa was promoted to a full-time Counselor and Academic Specialist.
- Amelia Howser: In June, Amelia was promoted to be our first Director of School Counseling!
- Jason Williamson: In August, Jason moved into his official role as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice, where he holds an impactful split position with Mizzou Academy and LTC.
- Sarah Williams: In December, Sarah was promoted to Executive Assistant.
Congratulations and thank you to each of these professionals for their service and dedication to our school!
Outstanding Professional Service. Mizzou Academy faculty in 2025 held prestigious service leadership appointments in relevant professional and campus organizations:
- Sherry Denney serves as the State Board of Directors Membership Chair for the Missouri Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (MAFCS) and a Nominating Committee Member for the National Art Education Association (NAEA).
- Kathryn Fishman-Weaver was appointed to the Cognia Global Commission. She also serves in Network Leadership for the National Association of Gifted Children (NAGC) as Chair Elect for the Computers and Technology Group.
- Brian Stuhlman served as the Region 2 Coordinator for the Gifted Association of Missouri (GAM).
- Stephanie Walter was appointed as a Teaching Liaison for the Teaching for Learning Center (T4LC) at the University of Missouri.
