MOCAP with Mizzou Academy
Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program (MOCAP) was established in 2007 as the state’s online school. It was previously known as Missouri Virtual Instruction Program (MOVIP).

MOCAP allows Missouri to:
  • Expand the range of courses and opportunities offered to students
  • Offer courses for students where there are no qualified teachers to teach the course
  • Offer students a course not offered by their school district
  • Provide courses for students who have schedules that prevent them from taking a course when it is offered
  • Present high quality instruction to students who are in alternative education settings or on home and hospital instruction
  • Provide additional support and extended time to students who failed to achieve in regular courses
  • Provides equity across programs and school in the quality of instruction MOCAP offers “any time, any place” learning for Missouri students

About Mizzou Academy
Mizzou Academy is operated and overseen by the University of Missouri Columbia’s College of Education, and it is the preferred online courseware provider for districts across the state. We currently offer a variety of MOCAP approved courses with program options available for students in grades 6-12. All of our courses are written and taught by Missouri teachers. Our courses are also aligned to both Missouri Learning Standards and National Learning Standards to ensure high quality and rigor to prepare students for their post-secondary educational needs. Students wishing to enroll in online learning opportunities with Mizzou Academy may do so through our website or may enroll through their home district by working with their school’s guidance office.

Thank you for considering Mizzou Academy as an option for your district’s educational needs. We look forward to partnering with you this school year. MOCAP approved courses are aligned to the Missouri Learning Standards, taught by appropriately Missouri certified teachers, and reviewed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

The following bullets pertaining to Educator(s), Course(s) and Student(s) Reporting in Core Data might be helpful as you process your enrollment selections:

  • The LEA paying for the online course where students are full-time enrolled and attending is responsible for reporting in Core Data.
  • An approved MOCAP course will have a program code of “50 MOVIP” and a delivery system of “V.”
  • A virtual course that is not MOCAP approved, will only have a delivery system of “V” and NO program code.

Districts must supply the following when enrolling in MOCAP with Mizzou Academy:

  • District Enrollment Form
    • Must have MOSIS ID for student
    • Must have District 6-digit code (Ex: 001-002 format)
    • Must have PO# listed OR you may use Term and Year [Ex:Fall 2020]
  • Academic Calendar for current school year
  • IEP/504 Plans for any student enrollment (when applicable)

Self-Pay Guardian Enrollments

As a guardian of a student interested in enrolling in MOCAP you have the ability to enroll your Missouri student to enroll in our 6-12 grade course options. Simply complete the form below with all of your student’s information, select the courses, and our MOCAP Coordinator will contact you to process your student’s enrollment. 

Guardians must supply the following when enrolling in MOCAP with MIzzou Academy:

  • Self-Pay Enrollment Form
  • 504/IEP Plan (if Applicable)
